What Gemini certifications does Google offer?

Google's Gemini-related credentials include certifications aimed at educators, K-12 students and university students, along with the Generative AI Leader credential for decision-makers, plus practical Gemini for Google Workspace skills. They range from classroom-focused to leadership-focused, so the right one depends on your role.

Are Google's Gemini certifications free?

Several of Google's certificates are earned through its own programmes and can often be obtained at no cost, which is why CertTulen's Gemini courses have participants earn the free vendor certificate live in class alongside the CertTulen certificate. Because Google updates its programmes, we confirm the current details during the course.

Which Gemini certification should a teacher take?

The Gemini Certified Educator credential is designed for teachers, covering AI for lesson planning, materials and classroom use. Teachers in institutions on Google Workspace benefit most, and it pairs naturally with broader AI-for-educators training on assessment and integrity.

Google Gemini Certifications Guide (2026): Which One Is Right for You?

Google offers a range of Gemini-related credentials for different roles: Gemini Certified Educator, K-12 Student and University Student preparations for classrooms and campuses; the Generative AI Leader credential for decision-makers; and practical Gemini for Google Workspace skills for everyday productivity. A manager or leader? → Generative AI Leader
A professional wanting daily productivity? → Gemini for Google Workspace skills

Why Gemini specifically?

If your organisation or institution runs on Google Workspace, Gemini is the lowest-friction AI adoption available — the assistant appears inside the tools you already use, so there's no new platform to learn. That makes these credentials especially valuable for Google-ecosystem schools, colleges and businesses.

How to prepare

Learn Gemini hands-on for your actual role — teaching, studying, leading or working — and earn the credential. Because Google periodically updates its certification programmes, the reliable approach is to prepare with current material and confirm the latest details at the time.
